Golden Horseshoe Golf Club's Gold Course features majestic views of Colonial Williamsburg and a spectacular layout rated 4.5 stars by Golf Digest.  Best known for having some of the most breathtaking par 3s anywhere, Gold Course is not extremely long but challenges golfers to make accurate shots. Designed by the legendary Robert Trent Jones Sr., it is one of the best examples of traditional golf course architecture in the world. Opened in 1963, Jones Sr. called the Gold Course his “finest design.” In 1998, Rees Jones was the architect of a course renovation that remained faithful to the original design but expanded the appeal of the course for higher-handicap players while simultaneously lengthening the course from the back tees.  Robert Trent Jones Sr designed the Gold Course with tight rolling fairways that slope to elevated greens and strategically placed hazards that force golfers to be accurate on their tee shots.  The Gold Course has water on 7 of 18 holes and heavily wooded areas bound the fairways creating a unique experience golfers will remember for years.  Certified as a Audubon Sanctuary, no homes surround the property creating scenic vistas resulting in a top 100 rating by Golf Magazine.  Gold and Green courses are both excellent options for any premier Williamsburg golf packages!
