The Apple Valley course is a Dan Maples creation, and was called "one of the most beautiful mountain courses around" by Golf Digest's Places to Play. Apple Valley's length provides a number of opportunities for spectacular drives, and well-positioned bunkers guard undulating greens for difficult approach shots. Its name comes from the rock-faced cliffs towering over the course; however, it will be the less prominent features that command your attention to score well here. Black Mountain Golf Course sits at the foot of beautiful Black Mountain Range and is only seventeen miles east of Asheville. Established in 1929 the 6,215 yard par 71 course is home to the famous 747 yard, par 6 17th hole, at one time the longest hole in the world. Black Mountain offers challenging holes, but very playable for all skill levels.
