Royal New Kent
The Traditional Golf Club at Royal New Kent in Providence Forge is a Mike Stranz design that opened in 1997. If you've never played a Mike Stranz course you should, if for no other reason than to say that you've experienced his very interesting and often controversial work. In most cases, his golf courses have two things in common: they're very different looking and perceived to be very difficult. Royal New Kent, for example, is pretty tough with a slope and rating of (74.9/144). Those are high numbers, but combined with wide inviting fairways, your fears are only visual. This is the way Stranz layouts are unique. Royal New Kent is reminiscent of Irish landscape with grass knolls, rock walls, and deep bunkers that will challenge all golfers. Other commonalities at Royal New Kent include blind shots, forced carries and large, fast, undulating greens. You will not want to miss out on playing Royal New Kent. Love it or hate it, for sure you will not forget them.
