The Crossing Course at Magnolia Grove Golf Course is one of the signature championship layouts on the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail and has earned a reputation as one of the finest public golf experiences in the Southeast. Designed by legendary architect Robert Trent Jones Sr., the course winds through rolling terrain, mature forests, and natural wetlands, creating a layout that is both visually stunning and strategically demanding.

The Crossing Course gets its name from the numerous points where fairways and cart paths intersect throughout the property, creating a distinctive routing that offers a variety of playing angles and shot values. The course features generous landing areas off the tee, but strategic bunkering, native waste areas, and well-positioned water hazards require golfers to carefully plan each shot. Large, undulating greens place an emphasis on precise iron play and confident putting, rewarding players who can consistently find the correct sections of the putting surfaces.

One of the defining characteristics of the Crossing Course is its balance between playability and challenge. Multiple tee boxes allow golfers of all abilities to enjoy the layout, while the championship tees provide a stern test of length and accuracy. Elevation changes, doglegs, and risk-reward opportunities are incorporated throughout the round, ensuring that no two holes feel alike. Several holes feature dramatic carries over wetlands and water hazards, creating memorable moments and demanding shot execution under pressure.

The course has long been recognized for its tournament pedigree, having hosted numerous professional and amateur events over the years. Consistently maintained in excellent condition, the Crossing Course offers pristine fairways, fast greens, and a polished resort-style golf experience. Combined with Magnolia Grove’s outstanding practice facilities, beautiful natural surroundings, and convenient location near Mobile, the Crossing Course stands as one of the premier golf destinations on the RTJ Trail and a must-play for golfers visiting southern Alabama.
